  • Northern Piedmont NC

    The Northern Piedmont is home to some great climbing areas. Pilot Mountain has easy approaches and is great for beginner and intermediate climbers. Moores wall which is a favorite trad climbing destination, and Stone Mountain which has superb slab climbing with memorable runouts. All of these locations are close to us and can be reserved on short notice.

  • Linville gorge region

    Linville Gorge is home to some of the most rugged wilderness on the East Coast. There is all types of adventures here from single pitch climbing to beginner multi-pitch climbs to very committing routes that require a full compliment of skills. Of particular interest to climbers are Table Rock, The Amphitheater, Shortoff, and Big Lost Cove cliffs. These locations are close to home and can be reserved on short notice.

  • Asheville NC area

    Asheville, NC is a great mountain town, as such there are great climbing areas nearby. Looking Glass hosts some unique opportunities to experience climbing on a granite dome with eyebrows, Rumbling Bald near Chimney Rock is home to fantastic winter climbing on face and crack climbs, and Laurel Knob which boasts as the tallest cliff face on the east coast. These locations are a little further away and may require a few weeks planning.

Southeastern States

The Appalachian Climbing School regularly teaches courses around the Southeast. There are opportunities to experience climbing through permits that we have in Alabama, Tennessee, and the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. We can arrange for private outings and group outings with a few weeks notice.

Colorado and Beyond

Wes spent several years working full time in the West being based out of Boulder, CO and continues to Summer in Colorado as a guide. During this time many industry connections were made that allow us to offer climbing services at many locations including Eldorado Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park, CO. There are also opportunities to climb in Moab, Utah and Red Rock Canyon, NV.
